XING TOM-The Adventure Boy’s Adventure
Series one-Adventure at the neighboring house Xing Tom, the adventure boy, was running faster at that terrible night. Some one was chasing him. There was no one to protect him and he must run. Suddenly he climbed up the building and went to the top. He jumped from that building to another, just missed and fallen on the floor, thank God; he was not wounded, except some scratches. A miraculous escape, he thought. The night was so dark and threatening. At a distance, he heard the barking sound of a Dog in a mysterious voice. No one was on the road. He was alone. While he was about to cross the road, he found a car coming like lightning, banged and bashed him and he was on the sky……………………………….!
Xing Tom rolled from his bed and was on the floor, rubbing his hands and legs, he got up. A very bad dream indeed, he consoled himself. He is about ten years old, slender and fairer by look with a build up braveness on his face. He often admired his own ’so called’ adventures and gallantries. Quite often, he proudly tells his friends that when he was one year old, he made a transition from his cradle to his mum’s bed, which was close by. This was told by his Dad!. And in another occasion, he jumped from his mum’s bed and fallen on the floor with little wound on his nose, which he proudly says. He used to watch a lot of Chinese action movies and cartoons and greatly inspired by the scenes of action, started calling himself ‘Xing Tom’ (Tom is his original name). His idea was to invent some weapons to defend himself or for doing future adventures, with the available tools in the shelf at the room, which is meant for keeping unused and broken items. ‘Can I be a Cowboy or a Moonwalker?’ he asked himself. Finally he found the old, rusted toy gun, which sounded like a real one. He was so excited to do some latest adventures, as he was bored with the earlier adventures, which seem to be rather kidding. That night, when his dad and mum were sleeping, he got up, tiptoed like a Cat, went inside his dressing room. In the darkness he found a pair of eyes traveling. Bewildered, when switched on the light, a black cat mewed and jumped out of the room. He scrambled and selected from his wardrobe, wore a yellow tight shirt covering both hands and a blue three fourth pant. With a maroon color hat, a pair of black boots and a wallet with gun case made his appearance perfect, he thought. Within minutes, he was standing at the gate. The street was dark and the wind blew colder. One of the streetlight was not functioning. His plan was to perform some adventure that his mind was dreaming for, so long. The street outside was narrow and lengthy, gave a deserted look in the night. He started walking, looking at the neighboring house attentively. A watchman was sitting and snoring at the gate of the nearby house. It was a big old house with a dense garden. The sweet fragrance of some flowers came in the air and hit the nose of Xing Tom. As the watchman was sleeping, sensing some danger inside the house, Tom decided to enter the house to save its inmates. The pathway, lead him to the portico of the house which was lit by dim light. His main idea is to protect the house from thieves. When he pushed the main door, it swung open. He found a man wearing a scarf fully covering his face, was just moving towards the bed room of the house. ‘Some thing has to be done to stop this man’ Xing Tom whispered in a low voice. He jumped and caught that man with both hands and literally hanging on him. As the man, not expecting this sudden impact fell down instantly along with the boy. ‘Thief thief’, the boy shouted at high pitch. The sleeping watchman suddenly woke up and ran inside the house and dashed with the woman who came from the bedroom hurriedly. For a moment there was confusion and chaos prevailed until the light switched on. It was next day morning. Xing Tom, his Dad Peter and Mum Roslyn were assembled at the neighbor’s house, where the incident took place in the previous night. Mr. Robert, the inmate of the house with a bandage in his hand along with his wife Julia wearing a plaster on the tip of her nose, sat in silence. Peter started talking slowly, ‘well Mr. Robert, please excuse my son Xing Tom. He is a sort of boy interested in adventure’. ‘It’s okay’, retorted Robert, who is having insomnia, tend to walk in sleep, in side the house every night. ‘The boy’s intention is good, after all, he tried to save the inmates of the house’ Robert continued with concern. Peter, the boy’s dad was surprised for this reaction as he was scared and expected a big scold. ‘All well, that ends well’, he thought. Xing Tom, the adventure boy was appreciated greatly and awarded a book titled ‘The Adventures of Don Quixote’ by Robert as a prize for his brave act. ‘Read this book thoroughly before you make any more adventures’ he advised the boy. Xing Tom though received the book in silence. But his mind was working faster than lightning, started visualizing about his future adventures. Though he was sad about his failed adventure, he convinced himself by telling’ I will continue my adventure soon’ in a murmuring voice.
